@Mateusz Konieczny: Thanks for spotting this usage of OSM – we live in interesting times! Unfortunately, "fair use claim for use of copyrighted data on unfree license" is not a particularly rigorous fair use rationale; literally any copyright violation could use that rationale. Can you clarify what you had in mind? (w:Wikipedia:Non-free content has a lot of information about fair use rationales if you're looking for ideas.) – Minh Nguyễn 💬 19:38, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

@Minh Nguyen: thanks for a reminder (I spotted it just before going to a bed), I added a bit documentation. Hopefully sufficient one Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 20:35, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
I'm actually unsure that this wiki should even allow fair use, which is a distinctly American legal concept, whereas the wiki's server is located in Europe and operated by a UK entity. But assuming fair use is allowed, I think this rationale makes the cut. Wikipedians would nitpick that you should include commentary about the image on the article that uses it – which in this case would be commentary about the manner of attribution. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 08:47, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, fair use on this wiki is one of problems that is on my TODO list to handle (help welcomed, I have queue of over 1000 TODOs and I will not do all of them even if I would live for 1000 years). Though right now OSM Wiki handles large number of outright copyright violations - see Category:Media without a license and Category:Labelled for deletion Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 16:43, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
