Description from highway=*:

A driveway is a service road leading to a residential or business property, usually with access=private.

Usage

Use on a way and tag with both highway=service and service=driveway.

Add access=private, access=permissive, access=customers etc. as appropriate.

The driveway should be tagged as such even if the property has a small number of parking spots, typically for the occupants. Please avoid tagging as parking_aisle which is reserved for the small subordinated lanes on larger car parks.

The main ways on the parking lot, connecting multiple parking_aisle should be mapped with highway=service, only.

Pipestems

Pipestems or shared driveways are common in planned residential developments, where a number of houses are located off a road (pipestem), each with their own driveways. Maintenance of the pipestem is typically the joint responsibility of all the homeowners off that particular pipestem. Pipestems aren't named roads. Though not an approved or proposed tag, some have tagged pipestems with this tag as well as driveway=pipestem
