July 25, 2022 regular meeting of the OpenStreetMap United States Board of Directors

Call to Order

Minh called the meeting to order at 5pm, Eastern Daylight Time, via video conference.

Present:

• Maggie Cawley (Executive Director)
• Adam Franco (Treasurer)
• Diane Fritz (At Large)

• Brian Sperlongano (Secretary)
• Dani Waltersdorfer (Vice President)

Old Business

• The minutes from June’s board meeting were approved by unanimous consent

Reports

• The Executive Director (ED) provided an update to the board on OSM US’s activities over the prior month.
  • The ED is exploring a potential partnership with Code for America to create map visualizer software for the Mapping for Impact initiative.
  • The board discussed options for corporate and/or organizational membership to support the organization’s goals.
• UVA Data science student groups are on track to provide a tool for OSM US to assess mapping completeness/quality.

New Business

Governance Committee

• The board discussed mechanisms for appointment to the committee.
• Proposal tabled until the next meeting

Adjournment

• The next board meeting is scheduled for August 30, 2022 at 4pm Eastern Daylight Time.
