The accommodation=* key can be used to describe if an amenity (e.g., amenity=pub or amenity=restaurant) has accommodation available for customer booking. The primary function of the amenity is not to provide accommodation (e.g., not a tourism=hotel) but offers accommodation as an additional service.

Current usage

This tag is most commonly used in the United Kingdom where it is quite common for pubs to also have bedrooms on site available for booking. Similar usage is also observed elsewhere.

However, there is some minor use of this key to describe the type of accommodation being offered.

How to tag

Add the accommodation=yes tag to an amenity to indicate that it has rooms available for booking. Conversely if the amenity does not offer rooms, add accommodation=no.
