road safety training - DE:Verkehrsschulgarten / Verkehrsschulen

I used amenity=driver_training + driver_training=bicycle + driver_training:for=child to map an area used for road safety training for children (in german "Verkehrsschulgarten"). There is no reference in the wiki how to map areas like this so far but from time to time there are discussions about (without solutions). I suggest mentioning this tagging on this page. --Supaplex030 (talk) 09:26, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Issue would be tags like amenity=driver_training and amenity=driving_school are assumed for motor_vehicle=*. You may get unexpected results by doing this. (Frankly I don't like either key much) -- Kovposch (talk) 11:39, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
"Driver" is also a term very much related to motorized vehicles. I think you are right, I shouldn't use it... But what is good tagging for traffic schools as described above? --Supaplex030 (talk) 14:05, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
I don't know. I see at least User:Mateusz Konieczny drafted a proposal Proposed_features/scaled_down_streets_that_may_be_used_for_traffic_safety_education_or_as_a_type_of_a_playground. Although, it is kinda difficult to decide how to express both "leisure" and "education". -- Kovposch (talk) 14:31, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
Hopefully this page will be useful, though it is better to describe it as "documentation of a situation" than as a "tag proposal". If someone wants to make an actual tag proposal - it may be a good idea, though there to me it seems that there is no clearly preferable solution Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 19:18, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
For anyone else finding this, it looks like amenity=traffic_park is what to use now. -- Andrew (talk) 21:29, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
