How about existing buildings undergoing renovation?

I often see this tag on existing buildings undergoing major renovation. Is this a correct use of the tag? Bxl-forever (talk) 00:06, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

I would say yes, as construction of new building version like with highway=construction construction= Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 06:16, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

One can use this tag when a building is really undergoing reconstruction (and not just renovation), that is, for example, no windows, no roof, etc. I don't think that building=construction is suitable when the building is surrounded by scaffolding, workers are painting or restoring the facade, and people live inside. maro21 23:22, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
