document current usage

Looking at the tagging history it has been on a pretty straight downward directory since 2018 and IMO the usage is to low for the information, historical or otherwise, to be helpful to anyone. It only serves a purpose if people are still using the tag. The article doesn't even come up on the first page in a search for the term "camp site." So no one is going to visit the article to read a definition of what a camp pitch is. Let alone is does anyone currently need to know the thing about how it was once erroneously tagged on sports pitches. I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened with camp_site=camp_pitch in at least a few years. Same goes for the other errors. It's not like people can't browse the edit history to found out that stuff, but it's miss-leading and non-useful to treat any of that like its currently going on to any amount that it needs mention by including it anywhere. Especially since you didn't do a clarifying after you reverted me based "history" that it is "historically" what happened, but doesn't anymore. I still don't think it has any value as content even if you did though. --Adamant1 (talk) 10:01, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

I mainly intended to restore the information regarding the proposal depreciating the tag. If some of the listed tagging errors do not appear anymore, it can be removed. --Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 19:12, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
That's fine. --Adamant1 (talk) 06:46, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
I'm the one who added the error list during the big (not totally finished) review of these objects. the error list is meant to point out the real cases discovered and therfore the current meaning of this tag (it's the goal of the doc, isn't it ?). about the paragraph "historical meaning", I had modified it to warn the fact that "it'sn't anymore the most common meaning for remaining objects". i think it's better to review/fix all of them rather than spending a lot of time on the current version of the page, not seeing any benefit from removing the "how to fix" list. but if you wish, merging the 2 paragraphs into one "how to fix" wouldn't be negative. However, it is impossible to know if a meaning has disappeared until the last object has been checked. Marc marc (talk) 16:16, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
Fine, but it's inevitable that the usage will go down to zero at some point, and it's not helpful to anything to wait for however long it takes to happen IMO. If it's not a huge problem, I can just re-tag the remaining ones so we can be done with it. --Adamant1 (talk) 17:33, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
