Using this value just creates noise the key embassy it to specify embassy subtypes not to state that an embassy is an embassy. SimonPoole (talk) 14:32, 9 January 2022 (UTC)

Isn't this tag at least somewhat useful to explicitly mark regular "classic" embassies; to distinguish them from the other subtypes (e.g. a delegation, high commission, etc.)? -- Tyr (talk) 16:48, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
Yes, it is useful to explicitly indicate a regular embassy. Te be more precise, in the on-going process of replacing embassy=embassy tags by embassy=yes and depending on each case, the french community did pick various values between diplomatic=yes;consulate;liaison;permanent_mission;delegation;high_commission,ambassadors_residence;non_diplomatic. Therefore, if it's true that the current embassy=embassy tag is just a tag-by-default, the embassy=yes tag is a truly useful explicit information. Overflorian (talk) 07:15, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
