"Trees"

Hop plants are certainly not "trees" in the common sense, because these are herbaceous and do not have a woody stem. However, since they are perenials and grow high up, they are somewhat similar to vineyards or orchards in form and function, so some mappers have used landuse=orchard to map hops plantations. The standard subtag for orchards is trees=* to describe the kind of plants growing there, so that's how we got trees=hop_plants.
