Some Astronomical events are only visible from certain areas of the world. So occultations of stars by the moon and planets and solar eclipses are only visible from certain areas.

One should create the possibility on Openstreetmap to generate maps for the visibilty of astronomical events. For solar eclipses one requires

  • Boundary of visibility
  • Boundary of annular or total eclipse
  • Center line for annular or total eclipse or point of greatest phase for partial eclipses
Pathes of solar eclipses

For occultation of stars the area, in which the star is occulted, must be displayed.

Tags for the pathes of visibilty should be:

  • type of event
  • date

Pathes concerning the visibility of astronomical events should be created by data imported from computer programms, which can calculate the zone of visibility of these events with high accuracy.
