Kaart/Local Model
Introduction
The Local Editor team is a remote GIS editing team that contributes to their local communities in OpenStreetMap. The expertise of these native editors adds an extra layer of authenticity to the data that Kaart provides and allows us to get eyes on the ground when an obscure situation arises. These contractors benefit the company by providing knowledge of the local languages and cultures in a region of one or more countries. We, as a company, strive to do great work that is both accurate and up-to-date on a global scale.

Below is a brief overview of the projects that Kaart’s Local Editor team has contributed to OpenStreetMap.
Descriptions
Geometry Edits - Edits that specifically involve altering geometry. Includes all navigational related tagging and alterations (classification, one-ways, access and barriers, pedestrian, missing roads, alignment, etc.).
Name Consistency - Verification and editing of street names.
Detailed Editing by Type - Detail specific projects that only focus on a specific type of editing (one-ways, turn restrictions, roundabouts, building-road intersections, etc.).
Post Drive Editing/Imagery Collection - Collection of street level imagery and post drive editing projects (editing based on gathered ground imagery).
Community Outreach/Other - Community collaboration and outreach. Uncategorized projects are also counted under this category (fix-ups, government outreach/data collection, etc.).
