Introduction
A comedy club could be...
- a theatre dedicated to stand-up comedy (e.g. The Comedy Store)
- a pub or bar which regularly hosts such events (e.g. Tattershall Castle)
- an outdoor location for performances (e.g. Covent Garden)
Tagging
Option 1: amenity=comedy, to match the existing values for "theatre", "arts house", "cinema"
Option 1b: amenity=comedy_club; same thing with more explicit naming
Option 2: leisure=comedy or some other new grouping for 'entertainment' features like cinemas and theatres
Option 3: Existing tags with comedy=yes|fridays|occasional|see website tags added to the pub, theatre, or tourist_attraction node
Discussion
Looking at London, the comedy theatre
comedy theatre is already tagged with amenity=theatre, and the Tattershall Castle Tattershall Castle is an amenity=pub, so the additional tag comedy=yes would be useful to search for such places, without needing any new rendering code. Ojw 20:16, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
