User Accounts display name

@user:Swiggy013, It is a best practice to have accounts with proper name of user with name of the company supporting the editing in parenthesis. You can see some examples in this list. Can you explore how the recently started editing accounts can be modified? Thanks.Arjunaraoc (talk) 06:59, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for reaching out to us. I had a conversation on the same with our company legal team and they are not agreeing to share the editors actual name. Hence we have taken an example of BOLT and we created these username. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Organised_Editing/Activites/Bolt -- 08:16, 17 July 2023‎ Swiggy013

Use of changeset tag value alias?

@user:Swiggy013, I could not understand the use of changeset value: alias9 used for example in https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/138602080 by user Swiggy006 and https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/138466266 by Swiggy009? Can you explain?--Arjunaraoc (talk) 11:26, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

As per the organized editing guidelines "a unique hashtag to be used in the changeset comments" hence we are using "#swiggy, fixing_osm_roads" and the Value which we are using are ”alias1, alias2 to alias 10" to track our contributions to OSM which are different projects internally. Please let us know if you want to discuss these things over a meeting. -- 11:25, 20 July 2023‎ Swiggy013
@user:Swiggy013, I feel that your usage is incorrect. Apart from the changeset comments section, there are two more sections source, hashtags (optional) which need to be filled. You should use the hashtags section to fill #Swiggy and use comment section for detailed explanation of changes done without using hashtags in it. I confused alias1 as referring to team member 1. I do not see the need to update such internal information on OSM. You may better track such internal information locally by recording corresponding changeset numbers in my view. You may contact other experienced OSM editors and take a decision. Please update your decision once it is taken.--Arjunaraoc (talk) 10:53, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
@Arjunaraoc, Firstly, Thanks a lot for helping us in following the correct guidelines. I understand that we are not correctly updating the Hastags section in the comments. Now, we have corrected this changeset as per your suggestions. Could you please take a look at this changeset and please let us know if this is ok then I will ask my team to follow the same for their edits. We really appreciate your assistance here. -- 06:02, 20 July 2023‎ user:Swiggy013 (IST)
@user:Swiggy013, Yes this looks fine. Please update the wiki page also accordingly and communicate to the team to use the tag with all letters in lower case. (#swiggy)--Arjunaraoc (talk) 22:48, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
@Arjunaraoc, Thanks for the update. Sure I have made the changes on the page and updated the same to our team members as well. -- 13:00, 24 July 2023‎ user:Swiggy013 (IST)

Consistent use of hashtag

@user:Swiggy013, I found use of hashtag properly on only one changset by Swiggy009 among all edits by Swiggy team from 2023 July 01. For a sample changeset which did not use hashtag properly please see this changset. Consistent use of hashtags by all your team is essential for reviews, analytics. Please communicate to your team and ensure that the practice is followed.--Arjunaraoc (talk) 12:07, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

The user displayed name & the Tag Value used are not related to each other & are two different things, the tags are defined based on the internal projects & tracking purpose which will be used by the user who is working on the respective internal project. -- 11:59, 20 July 2023‎ Swiggy013
@user:Swiggy013, I think your usage is incorrect. Please see my response in the earlier section.--Arjunaraoc (talk) 10:54, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
