building vs. man_made

The tag describes a purpose or a facility with a function rather than a building construction. So using man_made with man_made=digester would be a better choice than the usage with building, in my opinion. Agreed. I have pointed that out in several forum debates about different kinds of storage tanks which should better be tagged as man_made rather then building. Unfortunately the wiki supports both approaches whereby I believe the building tag is mainly used because man_made=storage_tank is not rendered in carto. Map HeRo (talk) 10:49, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
