Not just water

Hazards may not be just water. Better to just use the value 'hazard' and leave the nature of the hazard to either a surface=water/mud/* tag or a separate area with natural=water/mud/* Warin61 (talk) 06:09, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

differences

What is the difference between golf=water_hazard and golf=lateral_water_hazard? Is it adding any info compared to using natural=water? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 21:44, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

There used to be a significant difference in the rules of Golf which allowed different penalties for lateral water hazards vs regular water hazards: one was marked with red stakes, the other with yellow stakes. The new international rules from 2019 have changed this distinction, but there are still red-staked and yellow-staked areas in the new rules, perhaps? This may depend on local implementation. With an island in the middle

Say if a multipolygon should be used for

golf	water_hazard
natural	water
type	multipolygon
water	pond

with islands in the middle. Jidanni (talk) 19:15, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
