Template talk:BrowseRelation

Why did you make this one if there's already the {{Relation|###}} template? Like in relation 10000. --Eimai 19:11, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Because i did not know Relation already existed... sorry... And I like it more in the tables with cycle-routes because the are a bit smaller... GercoKees 12:06, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
No need to apologize, I was just wondering, that's all :-) I agree that the Relation template uses up quite some space. It could be improved. --Eimai 12:26, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I think it'd be good to consolidate these two templates! Frankie Roberto 19:50, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
BrowseRelation is good for tables and Relation is good for continuous text. Both should be kept as they are now! --Phobie 00:59, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Wouldn't it be better to have a single template for relations, with options that allow you to specify how it's displayed? We only have one template for nodes and ways after all... Frankie Roberto 19:02, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
It is possible but where is the improvement? The node and way templates are not used very often. Most api links are for relations... --Phobie 02:16, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
BrowseRelation is good for tables and Relation is good for continuous text. +1 FrViPofm 21:54, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
I have added tools=short parameter into relation template. Please edit it, if you don't like something, it could be merged afterwards.--Petr Dlouhý 21:18, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
The tools are merged - this is only alias for {{Relation|<relation-id>|tools=short}} now. --Petr Dlouhý 09:15, 14 September 2010 (BST)
But now the BrowseRelation or Relation:short templates are too long, too big ! The interest of the BrowseRelation template was the small place it took in tables. It doew not need the relation picture. A background color would bee more compact. --FrViPofm 10:14, 25 September 2010 (BST)
Without the icon, it is probably better for tables (where the meaning is described above); thanks for the edit. If there was need for small version with icon, we should make also that variant for relation for relation template.--Petr Dlouhý 17:58, 8 October 2010 (BST)

JOSM Remote Control

I added a link for JOSM remote control. The first test version is only a link labeled as ".". So it need not much space and should not disturb existing layouts much. If there is use for more people this could be a longer link, example "josm". --plaicy 14:04, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I changed the layout a bit. For long texts use Template:Relation --Phobie 01:28, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Captcha

I find it annoying that every time I add a BrowseRelation, I'm asked to solve a Captcha. --MattGPS 15:24, 28 October 2010 (BST)

It is not a question of the BrowseRelation template but of the wiki : evrey time you add a link out of the wiki, you are asked to solve this Captcha. --FrViPofm 09:03, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Yes, and that is annoying, as the link is to http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/relation/ , and not to any other website. Also, that captcha thing should only be a hurdle for new and inexperienced users that may abuse OSM for spam or vandalism. Experienced OSM contributor should not be molested with it. --MattGPS 05:45, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

GPX in as "g"

Is it possible to add de character "g" to this template and generating a GPX file output when clicking on it? --ZMWandelaar 21:29, 2 May 2011 (BST)

It is possible to add a g to the template and link it to a page. But it is far more difficult to generate a gps from the relation. Neither the template nor the wiki can do it.
If there is a page that does it, the g link can point to it. --FrViPofm 00:12, 1 June 2011 (BST)
There is already in the "RELATION" version of this template a link that points to a GPX generating webpage (http://osmrm.openstreetmap.de/gpx.jsp?relation=10000). Alas I'm not that good in template programming (I allready messed things up once). Please can anybody fix this? My thanks will be eternal.
@FrViPofm: On my last rermark there was no reaction. My solution seems to be an easy one. Am I incorrect? Do you want to help me with the programming part. Lot of OSM User will be happy.

RawEdit

It would be nice to have also a link to RawEdit. --Cordialement, gerdami 09:55, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
