Template talk:Public transport

Categorisation

Peter has suggested that the automatic categorisation of articles including this template within Category:Public transport isn't useful, saying "articles should be explicitly added to 'public transport' if required - most should be in 'buses', 'trams etc.". I'm not sure I agree - I think all of these articles should be in the public transport category as well as their own modal categories. I've reverted for now, but happy to discuss it. I agree with Peter that the pages should not be automatically put in the public transport category. The pages should only be listed in their corresponding mode category, otherwise overcategorization occurs: see also http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Categories#Over-categorization . Depots

Where did the depots go? Will we not add them to the template? There is light_rail:depots:* and was railways:depots:* -- dr&mx (talk) 11:13, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
