How to upload individual tiles on your Garmin GPS device:
If you have only limited diskspace on Garmin ( e.g. with an eTrex Venture HC) or your internet connection is very slow, it is the best solution to load only the required tiles for the area you're interested in on your device:
- Find out the tile number of the required tile: http://ulrichkuester.de/OSM/CoordinateToOSMTile.html
- You are using the pre-generated tiles of User:Computerteddy. The tiles are downloaded here: http://osm.ammit.de/osm/latest/img/Number.img.gz
- At first you have to unpack the files, using Filzip for example (Downloadlink Windows) or gzip
- After that you can upload the files to your device using Sendmap ( Downloadlink Windows). Choose your unpacked files with "Add Maps" in Sendmap, Click "Connect" to connect with your device and then click "Upload maps to GPS" to upload the tiles to your Garmin GPS device um die Karten auf das GPS zu laden.
