How can I reach the active OSM Japan community?

Hi Tokada, I'm an OSM contributor and I'd like to ask the Japanese contributors for help. I don't really know where to find the Japanese OSM community. The wiki page Japan lists the places where I can find it, but I don't know where it's most active.

I would like to know if the community could help me find maps of Pyongyang (Heijo) in the period 1890-1945, as I would like to map on OpenHistoricalMap. As I don't speak Japanese, searching for this kind of image is difficult, so the help of the Japanese community would be a great help, thanks in advance for yours :)

Hi @Koreller, The most active channel is the Slack. It is more casual and active. The only drawback of the Slack channel is that messages are only stored for 3 months. Almost of posts are Japanese, but English message is also welcome. By the way, I searched the historical Pyongyang map and found some documents: Map by US Army : very detailed and written in English (1946), Map in 1917 : simple map written in Japanese (1917), guide book : guide book (1906). The National Diet Library is the very comprehensive online library in Japan. The link is the search result list of the words "map and Chosen" in Japanese. But there are very few maps of Pyongyang. (Linked before.) Happy mapping ! --Tokada (talk) 06:53, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
