Bring your own ideas or your to-do-list and work or discuss with other people. There are no requirements, it helps if you bring your own computer.

Interessierte OpenStreetMapler, Programmierer sowie fortgeschrittene Anwender als auch Einsteiger können im Team ihre eigenen Ideen umsetzen. In Gemeinschaft diskutiert es sich einfacher, Fragen werden direkt beantwortet und es ist auch schnell Code getippt. Voraussetzungen gibt es keine um zum Treffen zu kommen, jedoch bringt in der Regel jeder einen eigenen Computer mit.

Covid

Even though official Coronavirus restrictions have been lifted, we will be implementing these rules: Only come to us if you are vaccinated against or recovered from the Coronavirus. Additional you should do a test before you join us. We only allow up to 20 guests. We'll regulary air the room so if it's cold, bring warm clothes. At Saturday when vistiting a restaurant we will try to find a location which is't not so overcrowded. If the weather is good we will sitting outside. Zwar sind die offiziellen Coronavirus-Einschränkungen aufgehoben, aber wir halten uns trotzdem an diese Regeln: Bitte kommt nur zu uns, wenn ihr gegen Corona geimpft oder wenn ihr genesen seid. Zusätzlich solltest du dich testen bevor du uns besuchst. Wir beschränken die Anzahl der Gäste diesmal auf 20. Wir werden regelmäßig lüften. Wenn es kalt ist, zieht Euch entsprechend an. Samstag wenn wir ein Restaurant besuchhen, versuchen wir ein Location zu finden die nicht zu überüllt ist. Wenn das Wetter passt werden wir draußen sitzen.

Räumlichkeiten

The event location provides us with kitchen, toilet, rooms with desks and chairs, beamer, white board. We will also have network and power cable, power extensions, network switches. The internet connection will be provided via wifi or cable.

Die Räumlichkeiten haben eine Küche, Toiletten, große Räume mit Tischen und Stühlen, Beamer, Whiteboard. Wir werden auch Netzwerkkabel, Stromkabel, Steckdosenleisten und Switches vor Ort haben. Internet gibt es per WLAN oder Kabel.

Food and drink/Essen und Trinken

We will organize snacks and beverages. Saturday and Sunday we'll have pizza delivered. At the social event on Saturday evening everyone pays the own bill.

Es werden Getränke und Snacks zur Verfügung gestellen. Am Samstag und Sonntag lassen wir uns Pizza oder ähnliches liefern. Beim Social Event am Samstagabend zahlt jeder seine Rechnung selbst.

Public Transport/ÖPNV

It is easy to use public transport in Berlin. There are three zones A,B,C, the event location is in zone A. If you are comming by train to Berlin and your DB ticket has "Berlin+City" as destination, you can use your train ticket within zone A (tram, S-Bahn, U-Bahn and bus). If your DB ticket has "BERLIN" (uppercase) as destination, it allows you to go to any S-Bahn station in zone A, but only by S-Bahn. Otherwise you will need an AB ticket. It depends on how often you will use the public transport, available are single tickets, day tickets or a pack of 4 single tickets ("4-Fahrten-Karte"). With a ticket you can use tram, S-Bahn, U-Bahn, bus and ferries.

• S-Bahn: S Ostbahnhof (S2, S25, S26) + 1 km by foot Route from Ostbahnhof

Nahverkehr in Berlin ist einfach. Es gibt drei Zonen A,B,C, der Veranstaltungsort liegt in Zone A. Bahnreisende, auf deren Fahrschein als Zielbahnhof "Berlin+City" steht, dürfen mit ihrer Fahrkarte auch für die Zone A (Straßenbahn, S-Bahn, U-Bahn und Bus) befahren. Wenn stattdessen nur "BERLIN" in Großbuchstaben als Ziel angegeben ist, darf man mit der DB-Fahrkarte bis zu einer beliebigen S-Bahn-Station in Zone A fahren, aber nur mit der S-Bahn. Sonst muss man ein AB-Ticket kaufen. Es gibt Einfahrtenkarten, Tageskarten und 4-Fahrten-Karten. Genutzt werden können damit Straßenbahn, S-Bahn, U-Bahn, Bus, Fähren.

During the event there will be drinks, snacks and lunch (pizza). At the Saturday evening event, everyone pays for their own food and drinks.

Während der Veranstaltung gibt es Getränke, Snacks und Mittag (Pizza). Bei der Abendveranstaltung am Samstag trägt jeder seine Kosten für Speisen und Getränke selbst.

Das Hackweekend ist ein Communityevent bei dem auch Kosten entstehen. Wer das Hackweekend finanziell unterstützen möchte, meldet sich bitte im Vorfeld beim Veranstalter für weitere Details. Tragt Euch bitte ein, wenn Ihr plant zum Hack Weekend zu kommen. Die Anmeldung ist nicht verbindlich, ist aber eine große Hilfe bei der Planung. Am besten tragt Ihr dazu auch ein, an welchen Themen Ihr arbeiten wollt und ob ihr zum Lunch oder Social Event kommen werdet. Die Veranstaltung ist begrenzt auf 20 Teilnehmende.

Für die Planung hilft es ungemein, wenn ihr angebt ob ihr bei den social Events dabei sein werdet (X) oder nicht (-) oder noch unentschieden seid (?). Leider ist das hier im Wiki etwas umständlich, aber es gibt derzeit keine andere Möglichkeit.

Results

I did not really get to work on my actual plans for the weekend (as usual), but made some progress on my MapOSMatic fork nonetheless:

• merged duplicated code for MapOSMatic header logo and annotation footer in MapOSMatic single and- multi-page renderers
• annotation messages may now contain simple Pango html-like markup like bold and underline
• header logos are no longer hard coded, custom SVG images can now be used when rendering with the command line tool or via the MapOSMatic API; there is no way to choose different logos via the Web UI yet though
• special hardoced "magic" handling of POI indexes for neighborhood maps could mostly be removed
• preview of additional zoom levels 20 to 24 using "Obstbaumkarte" tiles added (Germany only)
• public MapOSMatic instance on print.get-map.org upgraded to latest changes
• tested public installation

PS:

• discovered https://github.com/gooofy/robinson during my train trip back from the hackweekend, which is a rudimentary HTML/CSS rendered for PyCairo. That could possibly take away some of the Cairo/Pango text rendering pains I ran into and allow for e.g better text output for the map annotations, and for a proper table of contents and render job settings summary to put on the so far empty 2nd page of the multi-page MapOSMatic atlas-like booklets
