Mapping of village boundaries

Data sources: 1) https://github.com/justinelliotmeyers/INDIA_SOI_2022 For each district there is a zip-file. The data format is as the original SOI. Using these data causes much mapping work, because OSM has a different data format and the files have shp-format. There are data for 17 states.

2)https://github.com/ramSeraph/opendata/releases/tag/soi-villages For each subdistrict there is a file in format .osm. That means the village boundary relations are already defined and can be used in OSM. There are data for 25 states but not all are complete (for example Rajasthan).

My mapping of village boundaries in Madhya Pradesh till today:
1) For the following districts I used (1) : Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch and Ujjain All existing admin_centres are mapped and I used the name spelling of Bharatmaps.

2) district Rajgarh, Guna, Shivpuri : Here I used (2). With this data it is possible to create village boundaries in much less time than with (1)
What I have done here:
a) correction of admin_level=6,5,4 according to village boundaries b) merge the village boundaries with admin_level=6,5,4
What I did not do:
a) adding of admin_centres b) correction of boundary names

3) General quality of the SOI data which is used by (1) and (2):
a) the spelling of names is different to bhatatmaps; sometimes SOI uses completely capital letters for a name and unnecessary space characters
b) newly defined subdistricts are unknown (If I were not able to find the correct boundary, I let them untouched and added a fixme tag)
c) if there are villages within a subdistrict with the same name, then SOI has combined them in one boundary relation. In most cases this is not correct (I did not make corrections)
d) There are often double/triple.. nodes at the same location (I made corrections; JOSM finds these cases)
e) there are strange artefacts (self crossing of ways…); I made corrections, if JOSM finds such errors.
f) SOI creates village boundaries for forest areas. Strange: forest are not villages!
